About James Comstock
James Comstock, Principal and Investigator for Insight Legal Investigation has worked in the judicial system since 1996.
He was one of the first Spanish Interpreters to be certified in Idaho where he worked in state and federal courts; later working as a Master Level Certified Interpreter in every judicial district in the state of Oregon.
With many years of experience working on a broad spectrum of cases of all types, Mr. Comstock brings to the table an unparalleled familiarity with Oregon Courts and the judicial process.
With hundreds of hours of experience interpreting at the witness stand, Mr. Comstock is very comfortable in a courtroom, and in testifying when necessary.
His time spent as a Fiscal Analyst and an Internal Auditor as well as a Business Projects Manager in the Oregon Judicial Department give him the background and experience necessary to use innovative methods and creative processes in support of complex litigation.
Mr. Comstock is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the OCDLA Capital Defenders. He currently serves as a member of the OCDLA Pay Parity Committee.
Mr. Comstock is a tireless and persistent investigator, whether he is working on a aggravated murder death penalty case, a child custody case, a civil matter or a simple misdemeanor; recognizing that all cases are extremely important to the client involved.
Having grown up on a cattle ranch in rural northern California, Mr. Comstock has raised his family in Oregon since 2001. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, watching baseball and exploring the western states with his family.
Current volunteer service includes work with Weathered Hands homeless outreach, the Oregon Innocence Project, and Kiva.org.
